Cryotech Adopts Polar Bear Family
FORT MADISON, IA – February 27, 2019 – Cryotech Deicing Technology, a division of General Atomics International Services Corporation, is celebrating International Polar Bear Day on February 27th. In an effort to raise awareness and support conservation efforts of the company’s’ mascot, Cryotech Deicing Technology has adopted a Polar Bear Family through the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
In May 2008, under the Endangered Species Act in the United States, polar bears were listed as a threatened species. Polar bears spend most of their lives on the sea ice of the Arctic Ocean. Sea ice loss from climate change is the biggest threat to polar bears. WWF is committed to monitoring populations, preserving sea ice and reducing conflict between polar bears and people. More information about WWF’s efforts can be found at www.worldwildlife.org/species/polar-bear.
