Innovation and experience converge: Proviron bringing Cryotech aircraft deicing fluids to Europe
Cryotech Deicing Technology (USA) and Proviron (Belgium) have joined forces to introduce Cryotech’s aircraft deicing solutions to the European market. This will provide the European aviation industry with high quality deicing fluids renowned for their superior performance.
For over ten years Cryotech has manufactured Type I and Type IV propylene glycol based aircraft deicers/anti-icers with industry-leading performance and internationally recognized product quality. Cryotech’s experienced research and development team continuously develops, introduces and enhances industry technology, ensuring products meet both industry standards and stringent environmental demands.
Cryotech Polar Plus®(80) Type I aircraft deicer is certified to AMS standard 1424 and formulated specifically for European use. It is a triazole free propylene glycol fluid that does not contain nonylphenol ethoxylate surfactants. Polar Plus®(80) can be diluted to desired temperature, making it an economical choice.
Cryotech Polar Guard® Advance Type IV aircraft deicer is certified to AMS standard 1428. Polar Guard® Advance exhibits low viscosity for easier handling, and has the lowest LOUT (Lowest Operational Use Temperature) in the industry.
This year, Cryotech and Proviron will introduce Polar Guard® II, a Type II aircraft deicer. This fluid is certified to AMS standard 1428 and specifically designed for the European market. Polar Guard® II combines low viscosity and superior sprayability with good dry out properties and low environmental impact.
“Cryotech is a world leader in deicing technology.” said Keith Johnson, President and CEO of Cryotech Deicing Technology. “We strive to formulate superior products and provide exceptional service to customers, improving the foundation for the future. Partnering with Proviron allows us to carry this method beyond North America and into Europe. Proviron is an exceptional partner with extensive experience in deicing chemicals. Cryotech is pleased to broaden our partnership with Proviron in this new endeavor.”
Proviron will market and produce Cryotech’s full line of aircraft deicing fluids in Europe. Commercial volumes will be available for the 2013 – 2014 deicing season. For over 15 years, Proviron has successfully produced and marketed runway deicers in Europe and Asia. The addition of aircraft deicing fluids to the Proviron product portfolio is a new milestone for both Proviron and the European aviation industry.
Wim Michiels, CEO of Proviron, commented: “This partnership is a perfect match with our mission to be a global supplier of renewable and sustainable solutions for specialty market challenges. Cryotech, having developed industry leading aircraft deicing fluids, is our preferred partner to further expand our deicer business unit. Manufacturing and supplying both runway and aircraft deicing fluids with the strong focus on customer service and flexibility will strengthen Proviron’ s position as one of the leading companies in the European deicing business. We are convinced this newly added deicing technology fits well with our area of chemical expertise and will create a win-win-win for Proviron, Cryotech and the European aviation industry.”
Cryotech Deicing Technology is a division of General Atomics International Services Corporation, a San Diego based company specializing in energy-related research and product development. Cryotech manufactures and markets environmentally compatible acetate-based highway, commercial, and airport runway deicers, as well as glycol-based aircraft deicers. Each is considered safer for the environment because they readily biodegrade and exhibit low toxicity to vegetation and aquatic life.
