FORT MADISON, IA ... Cryotech Deicing Technology announces the addition of Polar Plus® LT, Type I aircraft deicing/anti-icing fluid to its cutting-edge line of aircraft deicing products. Polar Plus LT is industry leading technology – combining extremely low aquatic toxicity and LOUT (Lowest Operational Use Temperature) with excellent wetting and low foaming properties.
Cryotech's development of Polar Plus LT was driven by customer demand. Changing environmental requirements created the need for an aircraft deicing fluid to help airports and airlines adhere to stringent NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) permits, without sacrificing fluid performance.
"Customers have come to Cryotech with concerns regarding the ecological effects of aircraft deicing fluid," said Keith Johnson, President and CEO of Cryotech Deicing Technology. "These concerns, paired with our own determination to formulate the best products, led to the creation of Polar Plus LT."
Polar Plus LT has the lowest aquatic toxcity of any propylene glycol based fluid in the industry, greatly reducing its environmental effect on stormwater run-off. It is triazole free, does not contain nonylphenol ethoxylate surfactants, and is readily biodegradable. In addition to its outstanding environmental attributes, Polar Plus LT has a LOUT of -27.4°F (-33°C), the lowest LOUT in the industry for a propylene glycol based fluid. Polar Plus LT's superior wetting and low foaming properties enable easier handling, even dispersal, and aid in visual contamination checks. Polar Plus LT is an AMS 1424 Certified, FAA approved Type I aircraft deicing/anti-icing fluid. It was successfully field trialed and will be available for purchase during the 2014 – 2015 deicing season.
